Martin Soukisyan was born on March 8, 1955 in Gyumri (Leninakan).
Mr. Soukiasyan graduated from the Civil Engineering Department of the Leninakan branch of the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute and from the Sewing Production Department in 1985. He is a civil engineer and sewing production technologist.
From 1980-1990 he was first the LCYU secretary and later CP secretary of the Railway Junction. From 1990-1992 he was the chairman of the Railway Junction Trade Union. From 1992-1999 he was the director of the Gyumri Bread Delivery Company.
From 1998-1999 he served in the NA from electoral district # 54 and he was a member of the Reforms Deputy Group.
1999-2003 was his second term as a deputy of the NA (electoral district # 64) and he was on the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs. He was a member of the Unity Faction.
On May 25, 2003 he was reelected to the NA from electoral district # 46 and he is currently on the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs. He is a member of both the Republican Party of Armenia Faction and party.
Mr. Soukiasyan is married and has three children.
