Vazgen Khachikyan was born on March 19, 1972 in Akhtala.

Mr. Khachikyan graduated with a degree in law from Yerevan State University in 1997.

From 1996-1999 he was the deputy head of the Unified Trade Union of Yerevan State University.

1999-2003 was his first term as a deputy in the NA (from the proportional list of the UnityAlliance) andhe was a member of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and the Unity Faction.

On May 25, 2003 he was reelected to the NA from the proportional list of the Republican Party of Armenia. He serves on the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs and is a member of both the Republican Party of Armenia Faction and board.

Mr. Khachikyan is married and has one child.
