Mamvel Ghazaryan was born on May 2, 1961 in the village of Vanashen in the Ararat region.
From 1980-1982 Mr. Ghazaryan served in the Soviet Army. He graduated with a degree in economics from the Yerevan Institute of National Economy in 1989. He was awarded a Medal for Valor.
He worked as a commodity specialist, economist and accountant. From 1991-1992 he was the director of the Ararat Poultry Factory. From 1993-1997 he was the director of Vedi Wine Factory and in 1997 he became the president of Vedi Wine Factory OJSC.
1999-2003 was his first term as a deputy of the NA (electoral district # 33) and he served on the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit, Budgetary and Economic Affairs and was a member of the Unity Faction.
On May 25, 2003 he was reelected to the NA from electoral district # 24 and is currently on the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit, Budgetary and Economic Affairs. He is a member of the Republican Party of Armenia Faction and has no political party affiliation.
Mr. Ghazaryan is married and has three children.
