By now 10 meetings of young parliamentarians have been held. The next one is scheduled to hold in May 2013, and among the candidates of hosting countries Armenia is also presented along with Latvia and Switzerland. In case of makinga decision in favour of the RA, in the coming year World Youth Parliament for Water will bring 85 young people from all European countries to Armenia.
Welcoming the young people’s initiative, the NA President has noted that today the effective management of water is one of the world’s most important issues. Recording that not much part of existing considerable water resources is used in Armenia, Mr Abrahamyan has noticed that, nevertheless, there is an obvious progress in improving the management system. The President of the Parliament has ensured that he is ready to possibly support the works of the organization, and in case Armenia is recognized a winner, the young people will not only be able to get acquainted with the mechanisms of the established water management in the RA, but also the rich history and culture of our country. “The youth is the motivating force of the future, and their participation in the discussion and search for solutions of the global problems is important,”- noted Mr Abrahamyan.
