On October 22 the RA NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan received the Deputy Speakers of the Parliament of the Republic of Latvia Andrejs Klementjevs, Inese Libina-Egnere and the MP Dana Reizniece-Ozola.
Welcoming the parliamentary delegation and highly assessing the high level of the Armenian-Latvian relations the NA Speaker documented with satisfaction the dynamic development of the inter-parliamentary relations. In his word the relations of the two parliaments are on stable basis, and in terms of more effectively developing them it is necessary to use all the possible dimensions of cooperation. Hovik Abrahamyan deemed necessary the cooperation of the representatives of the parliaments of the two countries over the issues of bilateral importance in international organizations, in this context highlighting the role of the parliamentary diplomacy in inner-state relations.
Thanking for the reception and conveying the warm greetings of the Speaker of the Latvian Saema, the Deputy Speaker of the Latvian Parliament Inese Libina-Egnere highly appreciated the friendly relations formed between the two parliaments and highlighted the further deepening of cooperation and the development in different dimensions.
In the course of the meeting the sides touched upon the regional problems, the decision of Armenia’s joining the Customs Union and Armenia-EU relations. The cooperation between Armenia and the European Union in different directions and dimensions was deemed important.
