On December 5, on the first day of his official visit to the Republic of India the RA NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of India Salman Khurshid.
Hovik Abrahamyan also has noted that Armenia highlights the bilateral and multilateral cooperation with India. He has documented with satisfaction that since the establishment of diplomatic relations numerous mutual official and working visits have been, which witnesses of the high level of the existing friendly relations between the two countries.
“The importance of the development of our relations with India points out the fact that the RA President has applied to the RA Government with special assignment on elaborating a complex development programme of the Armenian-Indian relations. Armenia is concerned about providing the continuity of wide-scale and multi layer cooperation,” the NA Speaker noted.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of India Salman Khurshid highly assessed the relations with Armenia and deemed necessary to continue the further deepening of bilateral and multi-lateral cooperation. He highlighted the deepening of inter-parliamentary relations, the development of trade-economic ties, the contacts of business circles, the encouragement of mutual investments and the implementation of concrete programmes.
In the course of the meeting both sides touched upon the regional issues, highlighted the peaceful settlement of the conflicts. The Foreign Minister of India welcomed and highly assessed the efforts of Armenia aimed at the stability and peace of the region and expressed readiness to support in that issue.
The sides emphasized the development of cooperation in the spheres of economy, science, education, health care and high technologies.
