Born on November 7, 1961 in Tabatsghuri village of Borzhomi region of the Republic of Georgia.

1978 - 1983 - Studied in the Cattle Breeding and Veterinary Institute of Yerevan.

1983 - Worked in the milk factory of Yaroslavl as machine operator.

1983 -1985 - Served in the Soviet Army.

1985 - 1990 - Worked in the milk factory of Hrazdan worker, master, Head of production unit and chief engineer.

1990 - 1991 - Chairman of “Karansdzav” cooperative.

1991 - 1995 - Director of Charentsavan Bakery.

1995 - 1996 - Chairman of City Council of Charentsavan.

1996 - 1999 - Mayor of Charentsavan.

1995 - 2001 - Deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.

2001 - 2007 - Minister of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Armenia.

May 12, 2007 - Elected as  Deputy of the National Assembly by the proportional system from the Republican Party of Armenia/RPA.

2007 - 2012 - Deputy of the National Assembly (proportional electoral system, RPA.)

June 7, 2007 - May 31, 2012 - Chair of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly.

May 6, 2012 - Elected Deputy of the National Assembly by the proportional electoral system from the Republican Party of Armenian.

2004 - Awarded the Medal of Police of the Republic of Armenia  “For Consolidation of Cooperation.”

2006 - Awarded the Medal of “Anania Shirakatsi.”

2016 - Awarded the second grade Medal “For Services Contributed to Motherland.”

Married, with three children.
