Born on November 23, 1966 in the village of Arshalouys in the Echmiadzin region.

2000 - Graduated from the Echmiadzin “Grigor Lousavorich” University. Economist.

1983 - 1985 - Worked in the collective farm of the village of Arshalouys.

1985 - 1987 - Served in the Soviet Army.

1989 - 1996  - Fighter of the Yerkrapah Detachment, deputy of the detachment commander.

Served in the Armed forces of the Republic of Armenia.

1995 - Unit commander. Head of the Echmiadzin regional division of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union.

1996 - 1997 - Director of the Echmiadzin Bread Factory.

1999 - 2003 - Deputy of the National Assembly (electoral district #37.) Member of the Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs of the National Assembly. Member of the “Unity” faction, and then member of the “Armenia” Deputy Group.

2003 - 2007 - Deputy of the National Assembly (electoral district #28.) Member of the Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs of the National Assembly. Member of the R PA  faction.

2007 - 2012 - Elected Deputy of the National Assembly (electoral district #20.) Member of  the Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs of the National Assembly.

May 6, 2012 - Elected as Deputy of the National Assembly from electoral district #20.

Awarded a “Mayrakan Yerakhtagitutyun” (Mother’s Gratitude) Medal (1995,) 2nd Grade Martakan Khach (War Cross) Medal (1996,) a “Marshal Baghramyan” Medal (2001,) an “Andranik Ozanyan” Medal (2003) and   a “Vazgen Sargsyan” Medal (2003.)

Married, and has four children.
