1979 - 1981 - Served in the Soviet Army.

1987 - Graduated from the faculty of Law of Yerevan State University. Lawyer.

1987-1990 - Lawyer for district executive committee “Gyughagroard” enterprise in Ararat.

1990 - Received the title of Senior Lieutenant.

1990 - 1992 - Head of the Criminal Intelligence Service Department of Internal Affairs of Ararat.

1992 - 1996 - Head of the Division of Internal Affairs of Ararat.

1993 - Received the title of Major.

1994 - Received the title of Lieutenant-colonel.

1996 - Received the title of Colonel.

1996 - 2000 - Head of the Department of provincial Internal Affairs of Ararat.

2000 - 2008 - Commander of the police forces of the Republic of Armenia. 2001 - Received the title of Major General.

2007 - Received the title of Lieutenant General.

1988 -1994 - Participated in the Artsakh Fight for Freedom.

1992 - Battalion Commander for Shushi liberation.

May 6, 2012 - Elected Deputy of the National Assembly by the proportional electoral system from the “Prosperous Armenia” party.
