Born on January 27, 1952, in the village of Nerkin Jrapi, Ani region (now Shirak province).

1974 - Graduated from the History Department of the Yerevan State University. Historian. Lieutenant-General.

1974 - 1976 - Teacher of Ararat Industrial and Technological College.

1976 - 1980 - Secretary, 2nd Secretary of the ULYCL (Union Leninist Young Communist League) Ararat District Committee.
