Born November 22, 1959 in Yerevan.

1981 - 1982 - Served in the Soviet Army.

1989 - Membership to the Independent Army.

1980 - Graduated from the Yerevan Institute of National Economy. Economist.

1980 - 1981 - Economist at cement plant in Rybnytsia city (Moldova).

1983 - 1986 - Senior economist in the “Hayelectramechmat” complex of the Masis region.

1987 - 2000, 2007 - 2012 - Had his own busi­ness.

1992 - 1995 - Worked in Moscow.

1997 - 1999 - President of the Arsoil AC CJSC and “Hayagrobank” Councils.

1999 - 2001 - Vice President of the Intergovernmental Association of Agricultural Production Banks.

1990 - 1994 - Member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA).
1991 - 1992 - Member of the RPA Political Council.
Since 2002 - Founding Head of the United Labour party.
2000 - 2003 - Member of the National Assembly (#29 electoral district). Member of the Standing Committee on Financial - Credit, Budgetary and Economic Affairs of the National Assembly.
2001 - 2003 - Deputy Chair of the Commission on Legal Affairs of CIS Inter- parliamentary Assembly.  Not included in factions and deputy groups. Non partisan.

2003 - 2007 - Member of the National Assembly (proportional electoral system, ULP.) Member of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly. Deputy Chair of the Commission on Legal Affairs of CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, Member of the Commission of PACE political Affairs. Head of the faction of “United Labour Party.

2012 - 2017 - Member of the National Assembly (proportional electoral system from the “Prosperous Armenia” party). Member of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly. Member of the “Prosperous Armenia” faction.

June 20, 2021 - Elected Member of the National Assembly from the national electoral list of the “Civil Contract” party.

1998 - Awarded the Moscow 850th Anniversary Medal.

2005 - Awarded CIS Inter- parliamentary Assembly Medal of “Cooperation.”

2006 - Awarded the first grade Medal "For Services to the Motherland.”

2015 - Awarded the second grade Medal "For Services to the Motherland.”

Divorced with two children.
