He was born on April 11, 1961 in the village Janfida of Armavir marz/region.

In 1996 he graduated from “Ararat” University of Armavir. He is a lawyer.

In 1979 – 1981 he served in the Soviet Army. From 1989 he took part in the Artsakh freedom fighting. In 1994-2000 he served in the army of the Republic of Armenia, occupying different commanding posts. He is a colonel.

He was awarded a Conspicuous Gallantry Medal of the Republic of Armenia, a Conspicuous Gallantry Medal of the NKR, as well as numerous memorial medals of the Ministry of Defense and Yerkrapah Voluntary Union.

On May 12, 2007 he was elected as a deputy of the National Assembly from the electoral district # 12.

He is married and has two children.
