Naira ZOHRABYAN



She was born on May 8, 1965 in Yerevan.

She finished Yerevan school #21 with honours. In 1987 she graduated from the department of drama study of Yerevan Fine Arts and Theatre Institute.

She finished two-year courses of international journalism. She had her specialty retraining at the Moscow State Institute of Theatre Art, at the Moscow All-Union State Institute of Cinematography, as well as at the leading theatres of Moscow.

She is an author of numerous works, which were published in the local and foreign cultural periodicals.

In 1992 she worked as a reporter in Ar, Aravot, Hayots Ashkharh, Hayk periodicals. In 1989-2006 she was political analyst of Haykakan Zhamanak daily. In 2007 she was author-presenter of Verelk/Rise political series of Kentron TV Company.

On May 12, 2007 she was elected as a deputy of the National Assembly by proportional electoral system from Prosperous Armenia party.

On June 8, 2009 she was elected as Chairperson of the NA Standing Committee on European Integration.

She has one daughter.
