Sittings of RA NA Standing Committees Held

On February 23, at the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations moderated by Armen Ashotyan the RA NA Draft Statement on Condemnation of Azerbaijan’s Crimes towards Armenians authored by the RA NA deputies Vahram Baghdasaryan, Armen Ashotyan, Vahe Enfiajyan and Armen Rustamyan was debated, and the RA NA RPA Tsarukyan, the ARF and the Way Out Factions joined it.

In the word of the key speaker Armen Ashotyan, the mass violence, murders and deportations perpetrated by Azerbaijan against peaceful population is condemned, as well as the anti-Armenian, racist policy and the unleashed aggressive military actions against Nagorno Karabakh. The RA NA calls on the parliaments and the parliamentary assemblies, the international organizations, the structures with protection of human rights which are a threat not only for the Armenian people, but also for the security of the whole region, stability and development.

Armen Ashotyan assured that during the period from the first to the second reading the presented recommendations would be taken into consideration.

As a result of voting, the bill with the endorsement of the Committee was included in the draft law of the agenda of the third session of the RA NA sixth convocation. The Committee made a decision to propose and include the NA draft statement in the draft agenda of the regular sittings.

At the extraordinary sitting moderated by Khosrov Harutyunyan the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs considered the draft law on Official Statistics with the enclosed legislative package presented by the Chairman of the RA National Statistical Service Stepan Mnatsakanyan.

Khosrov Harutyunyan noted that working debates on the draft law had been and one dozen recommendations were presented and accepted.

The Committee endorsed the legislative initiatives, proposing to include them in the draft laws of the agendas of the third session of the RA NA sixth convocation and regular sittings.
