1 / 2

On March 29, the session of the CSTO PA Commission on Political Issues and International Cooperation moderated by Khosrov Harutyunyan was held. The Commission by the proposal of the Armenian side made a decision on the possible threat of the collective security in the NK conflict zone.

The decision is presented below:

“Listening to the information given by the CSTO PA Commission on Political Issues and International Cooperation about the situation created in the South Caucasus region of the collective security zone during recent years, the Commission expressed its concern over the situation created in Nagorno Karabakh conflict zone and called on to be free of any statements and actions which will bring in rise of tension in the region.

The Commission again confirms the CSTO adherence to exclusively peaceful settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict expressed in the statement made by the Collective Security Council (CSC) adopted on 30 November 2017 and joins the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs’ efforts directed to the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict based on the norms and principles of the international law, the provisions of the UN Statute, as well as the Helsinki Final Act, particularly relating to the non-use of force or threat of use of force, the territorial integrity of the states, legal equality and the peoples’ right to self-determination.”
