Parliament Continues Work of Regular Sittings

On September 11, the RA National Assembly continued the work of the regular sittings and by voting passed the legislative initiatives debated on the previous day.

Afterwards the parliament debated the draft law on Ratifying the Agreement on Mutual Recognition and Comparison of Education Qualifications, Scientific Degrees and Scientific Titles between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, which presented the RA Minister of Education and Science Arayik Harutyunyan.

Then the parliament debated the item of the election of the Chairman of the RA Court of Cassation. Gagik Harutyunyan and Yervand Khundkaryan expressed their viewpoints on the item under debate.

During the sitting the Chair of the RA NA Ad hoc Accounting Committee Gagik Melikyan has informed that Karen Karapetyan was elected member of the RA Audit Chamber with 78 for and 10 against votes: 88 deputies took part in voting.

Martin Galstyan was elected RA CB Council member with 78 for and 9 against votes: 87 deputies took part in voting.

Karen Karapetyan and Martin Galstyan thanked the parliament for the trust.

The item of the RA CC Judge’s election was debated. The Judges’ General Assembly nominated Arman Dilanyan’s candidacy for the CC Judge’s vacancy.

The Chair of the RA NA Ad hoc Accounting Committee Gagik Melikyan has informed that the voting of the CC Judge’s election will be held on September 12 from 10:00 to 11:00, and the voting of the Chairman of the Court of Cassation from 11:00 to 11:30.

The parliament will continue the work of the sitting on September 12.

At the last sitting of the day, according to the RA Constitutional Law ‘the NA Rules of Procedure,’ the RA NA deputies made announcements.
