Ara Babloyan Receives Representatives of UN Children\'s Fund

On September 27, the President of the RA National Assembly received Afshan Khan, UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia and Special Coordinator for Refugee and Migrant Response in Europe and Tanya Radocha, UNICEF Representative in Armenia.

Welcoming the guests in the parliament, Ara Babloyan highlighted the role of the UNICEF in the protection of children’s rights in Armenia and the solution of the problems.

The Head of the parliament has assured that the painful issues related to the protection of children’s rights are always at the centre of his attention and he is consistent in their solution.

Talking about the problems of the children with disabilities and those being abused, the President of the National Assembly highlighted the continuity of the program being implemented with UNICEF.

Afshan Khan highly assessed Ara Babloyan’s role and contribution to the protection of children’s rights and implementing a number of health programs. Emphasizing the expansion of the cooperation format, he expressed conviction that the implementation of the joint programs would promote the solution of the problems of health care and education.

In the course of the meeting the interlocutors discussed the perspectives of implementing health care long term programs, issues regarding the implementation of the initiatives directed to the solution of a number of problems for the provision of the inclusive education and protection of children’s rights. In this context Mrs Khan has underlined that she expects Ara Babloyan’s support.
