On September 29, the delegation headed by the Member of the European Parliament Eleni Theocharous accompanied by the Head of the ARF Europe Hai Dat/Armenian Cause Committee Gaspar Karapetian visited Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex.

Late in the evening the guests laid flowers at eternal fire eternalizing the memory of the 1915 Armenian Genocide and paid tribute in silence the memory of Holy Martyrs.

The Head of the European Parliament, noting that how they are excited, has documented Turkey should recognize the Genocide of the Greeks and other Christian peoples.

“Turkey should become a democratic state in order to compensate for the consequences of the tragedy,” Eleni Theocharous said.

Regarding Nagorno Karabakh problem settlement the Head of the European Parliament noted that the Artsakh people had been self-determined, and the issue should be solved only through peaceful means.

Let us note that during the years of Artsakh freedom fighting recently Eleni Theocharous was awarded the title of Honourable Citizen of Stepanakert for the charitable missions implemented in the NKR, the protection of the citizens' rights and interests of the Artsakh Republic.
