On November 3, the RA NA President Ara Babloyan attended the opening ceremony of the 16^th World Championship of What, Where, When Game, where about 400 connoisseurs from 26 countries would take part. The RA NA President welcomed the participants:

“Dear organizers and participants,

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am glad to welcome you in Yerevan in the World Championship of the well-known Intellectual Game What, Where, When .

The Championship is held in Armenia for the second time. It is a great honour for us to host such interesting, versatile developed guests, who with their example inspire and instigate the young generation to get knowledge.

Today What, Where, When Game is widely spread among the young intellectuals of our country. The Armenian connoisseurs reach success not only in their country, but also outside its borders. This year one of them, Hayk Ghazazyan, who played in Yelena Potanina's team, was recognized the best player of the spring game season.

The game is also famous among the political figures. As you know, a few years ago the MPs' team was created.

The holding of the Game What, Where, When in Yerevan is remarkable as this year our capital marked its 2800th year, which, in my opinion gave the event greater importance.

The Armenian people have special respect towards knowledge, education and everything which promotes their accumulation and spreading. As you know, the intellectual movement has deep roots. The reason, perhaps, is that during its whole history the values we succeeded to preserve and pass through many centuries have been knowledge, spiritual and cultural heritage.

And today the prior problem before Armenia is the development of human potential which is the competitive advantage of our country.

Dear guests,

Most of you are not first time in Armenia, and I hope that you will take a lot of positive emotions with you, bright impressions and certainly, you would like to return.

Let me again welcome all guests and teams of the Championship on our hospitable soil and wish them interesting games, good mood and success.

On behalf of the President of the National Assembly the trilingual book Treasures of Echmiadzin will be given to the winning team.

In his word the Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, the Co-Chair of the Championship Armen Ashotyan expressed his gratitude to the International Association of the Intellectual Game for holding the World Championship in Armenia for the second time. According to him, it is a special gift on the 2800th jubilee of the Capital Yerevan.
