On February 8, the RA NA Standing Committees convened sittings.

The RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs at its extraordinary first sitting held by the Committee Chair Vladimir Vardanyan debated and approved the working order of the Committee. After approving it the deputies debated the second agenda item - the election of the Committee Deputy Chair.

The Committee Chair Vladimir Vardanyan informed that the RA NA My Step Faction nominated the candidacy of the member of the same Faction Anna Karapetyan for being elected in that post.

The member of the RA NA My Step Faction Suren Grigoryan presented the candidate’s biography and the passed path.

The Head of the Bright Armenia Faction Edmon Marukyan, the Member of the Prosperous Armenia Gevorg Petrosyan and the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Vladimir Vardanyan appraised Anna Karapetyan.

As a result of voting Anna Karapetyan was unanimously elected.

At the sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on European Integration moderated by Arman Yeghoyan two agenda items were discussed.

According to Arman Yeghoyan, the RA NA Bright Armenia Faction nominated Karen Simonyan's candidacy for being elected in the post of the Deputy Chair of the Committee.

Afterwards the deputies approved the work order of the Committee, after which Arman Yeghoyan presented details on the visits of the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to Germany and Davos (Switzerland). He noted that during the meetings the Prime Minister raised the item on the RA-EU Agreement ratification process. The European colleagues have assured that there is no political obstacle in the process, and goes on according to the agenda of their national parliaments: the problem is merely technical.

The Committee Chair also touched upon the visit of the delegation led by him to Brussels and talked about the results.

Arman Yeghoyan referred to the upcoming works of the Committee, emphasized the team work in the Committee and evaluated the cooperation with the executive body and the NGOs.

There were two items on the agenda of the RA NA Standing Committee on Health Care and Social Affairs.

The Committee Chair Narek Zeynalyan expressed conviction that the works would be organized and carried out at due level irrespective of their party affiliation.

Narek Zeynalyan informed that the RA NA My Step Faction nominated Heriknaz Tigranyan’s candidacy.

As a result of voting Heriknaz Tigranyan was unanimously elected. The deputies unanimously approved the work order of the Committee.

At the sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Territorial and Eurasian Integration moderated by Mikayel Melkumyan the Member of the RA NA My Step Faction Armen Pambukhchyan was elected Deputy Chair.

Afterwards the work order of the newly created Committee was approved, after which at Mikayel Melkumyan’s invitation the RA Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments Albert Babayan and the Adviser of the Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan Hovhannes Azizyan answered the deputies’ questions.

The Committee members emphasized the cooperation with similar Committees of the parliaments of the EEU member countries.

At Mikayel Melkumyan’s proposal a Scientific Experts’ Council was created enclosed to the Committee.

There were two items on the agenda of the first sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport.

The Committee Chair Mkhitar Hayrapetyan informed that the candidacy of the member of the RA NA My Step Faction Hovhannes Hovhannisyan was nominated for being elected in the post of the Committee Deputy Chair.

As a result of voting Hovhannes Hovhannisyan was unanimously elected.

The MP also informed about his legislative initiative – amendment of the RA law on Advertisement.

Besides this bill, the Committee Chair informed about one more draft law concerning the sphere of education, which was authored by the MP Tigran Urikhanyan.

The Committee also established the citizens’ reception order and approved the Committee’s work order.
