The visit of the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport Mkhitar Hayrapetyan to the U.S. by the proposal and sponsorship of Melkonian Global Overture (MGO) continues.

On February 22, the Committee Chair visited important centers of Las Vegas Armenian community – the churches, the Saturday schools and the Monument of the Armenian Genocide victims.

The Spiritual Leader of the Armenian Church Saint Karapet, the spiritual and cultural center, Vahan Kostanyan presented to the guests the history of the church construction and talked about the challenges and problems facing the community.

Afterwards Mkhitar Hayrapetyan has visited the Armenian Saturday School of the Armenian Relief Society functioning in the Cultural Center adjacent to the church, where about 60 Armenian pupils study. During the tour the Committee Chair was presented the activity of the school, the pupils’ achievements, as well as the problems existing in the educational institutions of the Diaspora.

Mkhitar Hayrapetyan laid flowers at the Monument of the Armenian Genocide victims installed in the Sunset Park.

The President of Melkonian Global Overture Arsine Shirvanian, the Architect of the Church and the Memorial Complex Levon Gulbenkian and the representatives of the community accompanied the MP.

On the eve Mkhitar Hayrapetyan met with the representatives of the community in the other Armenian  Church Saint Kirakos and answered the questions concerning them.
