Work of RA NA Sittings Continued

On May 8, the RA National Assembly continued the work of the regular sittings and passed by voting the legislative initiatives debated on the previous day.

Before passing to the debate of the items by the proposal of the MP, the Chairman of the Yerkrapah Volunteers’ Union Board Sasun Mikayelyan, the deputies congratulated the citizens on Shushi Liberation Day.

Afterwards the parliamentarians continued the debate of the draft law on Amending the RA Tax Code in the first reading, getting acquainted with the endorsement of the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs presented by Tsovinar Vardanyan.

The RA First Deputy Minister of Justice Artak Asatryan presented for debate in the first reading the draft law on Amending the RA Criminal Code.

The deputy Sergey Atomyan presented the endorsement of the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs on the draft law.

The parliament debated in the first reading the draft law on Making Addendum to the RA Law on the RA Holidays and Memorial Days authored by Naira Zohrabyan and Vahe Enfiajyan: it proposed to celebrate April 16 as Armenian Cinema Day.

The MP Anna Kostanyan has presented the endorsement of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport and clarified that though the international community celebrates December 28 as International Cinema Day, including the Armenian community, nevertheless it necessary to pass the initiative, as we’ll also evaluate the Armenian cinema art by that.

The Deputy Minister of Culture Vahe Budumyan presented the negative opinion of the RA Government, noting that the Cinema Day is traditionally celebrated on December 28.

The RA NA Deputy Speakers Alen Simonyan and Vahe Enfiajyan, the other deputies Narine Khachaturyan, Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, Mikayel Melkumyan, Lilit Makunts, Sergey Bagratyan, Arman Abovyan, Anna Kostanyan, Sofia Hovsepyan and Hrachya Hakobyan expressed their positions on the draft law .

In her final speech the RA Deputy Minister of Culture Vahe Budumyan and the co-author of the bill Naira Zohrabyan touched upon the voiced viewpoints and concerns.

The RA Minister of Nature Protection Erik Grigoryan presented for debate in the first reading the draft law on Making Addendum and Amendment to the RA Tax Code.

The member of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Gevorg Papoyan voiced the endorsement of the Committee.

The RA NA deputies Tsovinar Vardanyan, Gurgen baghdasaryan, Mikayel Melkumyan, Arkady Khachatryan, Armen Yeghiazaryan expressed their viewpoint on the initiative .

The RA Minister of Nature Protection Erik Grigoryan presented for debate in the first reading the bill on Making Addenda and Amendments to the RA Water Code.

The deputy Mary Galstyan voiced the endorsement of the RA NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment.

The RA Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies Hakob Arshakyan presented for debate the draft law on Pardon of the Fines Applied for a Number of Administrative Offences and State Duty.

The member of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Artashes Petrosyan presented the endorsement of the Head Committee.

The parliament also debated the draft law on Amending the RA Law on the programme of the State Property Privatization for 2017-2020.

The key speaker, the RA Minister of Health Care Arsen Torosyan answered the deputies’ questions.

The Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Health Care and Social Affairs Narek Zeynalyan presented the endorsement of the Committee.

Afterwards the deputies debated the report on the Activity of the RA Prosecutor’s Office for 2018. The key speaker, the RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan expressed hope that the parliament would support the adoption of the legislative initiatives aimed at the improvement of the sphere.

At the last sitting, under the constitutional law the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, the members of the RA Government answered the deputies’ questions.
