Gudrun Kugler: Austria Highlights the Deepening of Cooperation with Armenia in Different Directions

On May 10, the representatives of the RA NA Armenia-Austria Friendship Group met with the delegation led by the Head of Austria-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group of the National Council of Austria Gudrun Kugler.

Welcoming the guests’ visit, the Head of the NA Armenia-Austria Friendship Group Viktor Yengibaryan talked about the political relations, emphasized the deepening of cooperation between the Friendship Groups of the legislative structures and evaluated the study of the experience of Austria’s parliamentary government.

Speaking about the ratification process of Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership by the European Union member countries, the Head of the NA Armenia-Austria Friendship Group expressed hope that the ratification of the document by Austria would not delay.

The interlocutors talked about the necessity of the development of cooperation in the spheres of tourism, agriculture and in a number of spheres.

In the context of the development of economic relations Viktor Yengibaryan considered necessary the holding of the Armenian-Austrian Business Forum in Yerevan.

According to the Head of Austria-Armenia Friendship Parliamentary Friendship Group Gudrun Kugler, Armenia as a country with historical, cultural rich traditions is an important partner for Austria. Gudrun Kugler expressed readiness to promote the development of close cooperation between the Friendship Groups of the two parliaments. She has noted that Austria highlights the deepening of cooperation with Armenia in different directions.

At the guests’ request, the Armenian parliamentarians presented the priorities of the RA foreign policy and talked about Nagorno Karabakh problem and other regional issues.
