On June 6, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security Andranik Kocharyan met with the Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross Delegation in Armenia Claire Meytraud. Andranik Kocharyan highlighted the mission of the organization and expressed hope that the further cooperation would be more effective.

The Head of the Delegation has noted that the prior goals of the International Committee of the Red Cross are to support the RA authorities in the problems of the missing persons as a consequence of the conflict, visiting those deprived of freedom, showing assistance in their repatriation and move, the encouragement of the authorities in the ratification of the treaties of the international humanitarian law and the inclusion and use of its provisions in the national legislation. Claire Meytraud also highlighted the cooperation with the RA National Assembly.

The interlocutors also discussed issues regarding those who suffered from the mined territories as a consequence of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and clarifying the destinies of the missing persons.
