On October 24, within the framework of the Conference of Presidents of Parliament of the Member States of the Council of Europe the President of the RA National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan met with the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Liliane Maury Pasquier.

Congratulating PACE President on the occasion of the 70^th anniversary of the establishment of the Council of Europe Ararat Mirzoyan noted that on way of resisting the challenges and seeking solutions Armenia would continue to rely on the support of the Council of Europe. The NA Speaker stated that after their meeting in Yerevan in March of this year Armenia had taken resolute steps in the frameworks of the judicial-legal reform agenda. During the meeting the sides also touched upon the situation created over the Constitutional Court. The President of the National Assembly has also stated that now the Parliament of Armenia has launched the reform on the Electoral Code and the law on Parties.

Welcoming the readiness of the Armenian authorities on their way to the implementation of their international obligations Liliane Maury Pasquier in her turn expressed willingness to continue the support to the democratic process of Armenia. At Liliane Maury Pasquier’s request Ararat Mirzoyan also reflected upon the process aimed at preventing the violence towards women and children.
