Issues on Slaughter House Activity Debated

On February 5, the RA NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment organized a working meeting, where the citizens being engaged with slaughtering of domestic animals presented their questions, problems and proposals concerning them on organizing the slaughtering of the animals in the slaughtering houses which was designed to carry out by the decision of the Government from July 2.

Those responsible for the local self-government bodies, butchers and the representatives on the spheres from the Government took part in the meeting.

According to the Committee Chair Varazdat Karapetyan, the goal of the debate is to find the ways of the solution of the problems concerning the persons engaged with the mentioned activity which will be acceptable for all stakeholders.

The RA Deputy Minister of Economy Tigran Gabrielyan and the Head of the Food Safety Inspection Body under the RA Government Georgi Avetisyan took part in the meeting and touched upon the works to be done in the sphere, the legislative initiatives, the programmes assisting the Government on creating slaughter houses by the citizens, as well as answered to the butchers’ numerous questions.

During the sincere talk the butchers talked about their concerns, the existing problems and made proposals.

As a result, a decision was made to continue such meetings, inviting for debate other parties concerned by the problem and having professional debates.
