On February 18, the RA NA Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan being in the Kingdom of Denmark on an official visit met accompanied by the Speaker of the Danish Parliament Henrik Dam Kristensen visited Amalienborg Royal Palace and had a tête-à-tête with Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark.

Thanking for the reception Ararat Mirzoyan underlined the importance of the historical friendly relations between the two peoples and expressed hope that they would deepen.

Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and Ararat Mirzoyan highlighted the significant role of the two Danish missionaries Maria Jacobsen and Karen Jeppe in saving the Armenian orphans during the Armenian Genocide days, which created a common spiritual relation between the two peoples.

Emphasizing the arrival of the delegation of high level from Armenia Queen Margrethe II expressed hope that it would be a serious basis for further deepening of the ties between the two peoples, cultural exchanges and activation of contacts. She wished success the NA Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan and the RA National Assembly in the implementation of their functions for the benefit of the Republic of Armenia.
