Steps of Deepening the Armenian-Indian Relations

On August 16 RA NA President Artur Baghdasaryan received Dipak Vohra, Ambassador of the Republic of India to Armenia. During the meeting the issues of the development of the Armenian-Indian inter-state and inter-parliamentary relations were discussed.

It was noted that the trade-economic relations are developed: three Indian big companies implement investment big programmes – gold, diamond processing, later also in the sphere of tourism. Issues related to the official visit of Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, Vice-President of India, Chairman of the Council of States envisaged in October were discussed. The Ambassador informed that a big number of businessmen working in the spheres of high technologies, agriculture, food processing, cars and other spheres will be in the delegation. During the meeting the cooperation was highlighted in the spheres of high technologies and telecommunication. Both sides highlighted the inter-parliamentary cooperation and the work in the international institutions.

During the meeting other issues of bilateral interest were also discussed.
