Deputies Debate Bills Aimed at Improvement of Judiciary System Legislation of Our Country

At April 30 sitting, the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs moderated by Vladimir Vardanyan debated the bill on Making Addenda to the RA Criminal Procedure Code authored by the NA deputies Sona Ghazaryan and Sergey Atomyan.

The NA deputy Nikolay Baghdasaryan proposed to endorse the draft law.

The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan particularly touched upon the MPs’ concerns relating to the risk of passing secret information.

The Committee endorsed the bill.

The NA deputy Gevorg Petrosyan presented the draft law on Amending the RA Criminal Code.

The Committee member Nikolay Baghdasaryan, the RA Deputy Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan and the Committee Chair Vladimir Vardanyan expressed opinions on the bill.

The Committee did not endorse the bill.

Srbuhi Galyan presented for debate the legislative package on Amending the RA Criminal Procedure Code and on Amending the RA Law on Special Investigative Service.

The MP Sergey Atomyan highlighted the proposing legislations and urged his colleagues to vote for it.

The Committee did not endorse the legislative package.

The draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Law on Pardon authored by the RA Government and the NA deputies Naira Zohrabyan and Vahe Enfiajyan was debated in the second reading and was endorsed.

The Committee in the first reading debated the bill on Amending the RA Law on the Structure and Activity of the Government and the presented package of bills enclosed to it.

The key speaker, the RA Deputy Minister of Economy Naira Margaryan noted about relevant amendments to be made in certain laws for regulating the sphere of the mental property.

The initiative was endorsed.

The bill on Amending the RA Constitutional Law the NA Rules of Procedure authored by the RA NA Deputy Speaker Vahe Enfiajyan was debated in the first reading.

The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Vahe Danileyan presented the position of the government.

The Committee did not approve the draft law.

The bill on Making Addendum to the RA Criminal Code presented by the RA Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Zaruhi Batoyan and authored by the government was debated in the first reading and endorsed.

Afterwards, the RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan presented for debate the report on the Activity of the RA Prosecutor’s Office for 2019.

The MPs touched upon the work implemented in fighting against crime, the steps being taken in revealing some crimes, the decent work by the employees of the system, the disclosure of the real reasons of the murders, the study of the car accidents, etc.

The debates of the legislative package on Amending the Law on Stock Exchange Companies and on Making Addendum and Amendment to the RA Civil Cod, the two bills designing amendments to the Constitutional Law the RA Judicial Code authored by the deputies of the NA My Step Faction, as well as the bill on Making Amendments and Addendum to the RA Administrative Procedure Code authored by the RA NA Bright Armenia Faction were postponed for two months,

The Committee will continue the work of the sitting on May 4, at 10:00.
