The legislative initiative envisaging amendment and addenda to the law on Refugees and Asylum authored by the government was debated in the first reading.

The procedures of the debate of the applications on being recognized refugee by the persons in prison and asking for asylum, the complaint of the adopted negative decisions, distinct and predictable terms are set.

According to the Head the Migration Service of the RA Ministry of territorial Administration and Infrastructure Armen Ghazaryan, in 2018, 218 persons applied for getting the RA asylum, in 2019 – 247 persons, and in 2020 – 207 persons.

The initiative was debated at the sitting of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs and was endorsed. The deputies’ almost all presented proposals were accepted.

The initiative was accepted.
