On March 18, the regular sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment chaired by Vahe Ghalumyan took place.

The legislative initiative on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Land Code authored by the deputy Artak Manukyan was debated in the first reading.

The toolsets on spreading information on auctions with the proposed amendment are expanded and clarified: “The organizer of the land auction is obliged to publish an information on issuing bargaining holding on the website azdarar.am and on the official website of the regional administration, as well as, if available, on the community website a month before the auction,” the author of the bill noted.

The existing corruption risks are also decreased by the draft law and the participants of the auction will have to take the process more seriously; “As a result of making high price proposals and possible anti-competitive agreements, the rejection of it will be minimized in the future by the adoption of the draft law,” Manukyan concluded. 
 
The RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan noted that the Government have also provided to make such amendments. The proposed version is one step forward. Referring to the publication of the information on the auctions, the Deputy Minister said that a lot of communities have websites where the sittings are broadcast live and by video recording therefore the information on the auctions can also be issued.

As a result of voting, the bill was endorsed.
