At April 12 sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration, the deputy Edvard Andreasyan addressed a question to the RA Deputy Minister of Economy Varos Simonyan trying to find out what measures are applied for protecting a local producer. It has been noted that due to severe winter greenhouse owners have used a lot of gas, as a result of which the cost of harvest is expensive. The greenhouse owners also have a problem related to tomatoes and peppers imported from Iran and Turkey.

The Deputy Minister assured that no agricultural products were imported from Turkey to Armenia from January 1 of this year. Regarding the imports from the Islamic Republic of Iran, he noted that according to the appropriate calculations of the State Revenue Committee, the customs clearance is implemented on the basis of those prices that the local production does not suffer and to be in a favorable condition.
