On October 21, Vahan Hovannisyan, NA Vice President and Hranush Hakobyan, the Chairwoman of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Youth, met the committee members of CoE Sports Development.
Mr. Hovannisyan familiarized the guests with the law-making activity related to the sports sphere, noting that there is a lot to do for regulating the legislative field and for developing the sphere.
Mrs. Hakobyan proposed to test the legislation concerning the sports, to clarify, which conventions, related to the sports, Armenia hasn’t adopted, to promote the specialists’ retraining as far as it is possible, and to present the European experience of federations’ formation and development.
Marie-Françouise Glatz, head of the delegation, assistant of the head of the CoE Sports Department, informed that the delegation has already met with the RA Government, the representatives of sports committee, and have comprehensively discussed all further activities. She noted that the mission of the committee members is to promote the sphere development in Armenia and to comply with the legislation of European standards through consultation, the documents presenting the experience of the European countries.
Committee member, Algirdas Raslanas, Minister of sports of Lithuania, and Zoran Verovnik, Deputy Minister of Sports of Slovenia, presented their passed way in the sphere in their countries. They greeted the strategy of strengthening the sports federation of Armenia.
Mr. Hovhannisyan assured, that Armenia will do its utmost to comply with the legislative field related to sports to European standards and for provision of practical success.
