On May 12, the Head of the RA NA Bright Armenia Faction Edmon Marukyan met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the RA Nico Schermers.

Welcoming the guest, the Head of the Faction congratulated him on being appointed in the responsible post and expressed hope that with his activity Nico Schermers would promote the development of the relations between the parliaments of the two countries.

The interlocutors discussed issues on more deepening of bilateral ties. The Ambassador highlighted the cooperation with the Dutch People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (Volkspartij voor Vrijheid en Democratie -VVD).

During the meeting Marukyan touched upon the issue of the return of the Armenian prisoners of war being detained in Azerbaijan, highlighting the efforts of the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands directed to returning of the Armenian prisoners of war as soon as possible.

Issues regarding the holding of the snap parliamentary elections to take place in Armenia in June were discussed.
