The Press Conference of the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs

On October 21, after the working deliberations, preceding the NA four day sittings, Rafik Petrosyan, the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs, during the meeting with the journalists, touched upon the agenda issues of the forthcoming NA fall session of October 24-27 and four-day sittings.

50 issues will be put on the agenda of the four-day sittings, 17 international treaties will be submitted to ratification. Issues of social sphere are especially put on the draft agenda. Mr. Petrosyan highlighted the bill “On RA 2006 Budget” and “On Restoration of the Deposits and Guarantees of Defense of RA citizens.” “All the committees participated in 2006 budget debates, NA group and factions presented their proposals,” said Rafik Petrosyan. The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs informed that he has made proposals for the restoration of several schools of Nor Nork. It was informed that the government staff wasn’t increased. “Certain Sums will be envisaged for getting new equipment for increasing the salaries of civil servants and for increasing social security,” says Mr. Petrosyan. Rafik Petrosyan noted that Larisa Alaverdyan, Ombudsperson, during the budget debates said that the allocated sum wasn’t sufficient for expanding full implementation of the institution and for having representatives in marzes. Comparing with the previous year, the sum for the institute of human rights is increased in 40mln AMD.

According to Mr. Petrosyan, the heirs of the deceased must be in the center of concern, for returning the citizens’ deposits the compensation is of great importance for them for building the grave and setting up memorials.
