T he Rapporteur of PACE Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons is in Armenia. Early in the morning Paul Gavan ’s meetings began in the parliament of our country. First, extended meeting with the NA Delegation of Armenia to PACE was held, where the issues of 44-day war, the Armenian prisoners of war, the post-war Artsakh, the lost and endangered Armenian religious cultural heritage were touched upon. The Head of the RA NA Delegation to PACE Ruben Rubinyan highlighted the visit and expressed hope that the whole truth would be reflected in the reported to be prepared in the near future by Paul Gavan.

The MPs presented to PACE delegate in detail the behavior of Azerbaijan with its all manifestations, referred to the tripartite statement signed on November 9 and the non-fulfilment of the obligations stemming from it. “Baku is obliged to immediately to release all Armenian captives, this is our demand,” the MPs affirmed, stressing that that country violated all humanitarian norms and international treaties. Gavan distinguished in his notebook the directions which would be key part in his report. “The post-war all realities and the facts presented by you unequivocally will be included in the report revised by me, which would ready until autumn,” the rapporteur said.

At the meeting with Paul Gavan the NA deputies especially underlined the fact of Azerbaijan’s Armenophobia, and in that context the evident cynicism being shown by them.
