Issue on Electing Member for RA Public Services Regulatory Commission Debated

At May 25 regular sitting, the Parliament debated the issue on electing a member for the RA Public Services Regulatory Commission.

The member of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Tsovinar Vardanyan informed that the NA My Step Faction nominated Sergey Aghinyan to be elected to that position. Sergey Aghinyan was born in 1977, served in the RA Armed Forces, studied in the State Engineering University of Armenia and in the American University of Armenia (AUA). The candidate, an engineer by profession, worked in the RA Energy and the RA Public Services Regulatory Commissions. He is a member of the RA Public Services Regulatory Commission from May 2019.

In his speech, Sergey Aghinyan referred to the problems of the sphere, the implementing reforms and works. He particularly highlighted the provision of publicity and transparency of the commission’s activities and noted the steps taken in that direction. The candidate assured that in case of being elected, his work experience for 20 years will give an opportunity to properly carry out duties of a Commission member.

The Deputy Artak Manukyan urged his colleagues to vote for him.

The secretary of the NA Counting Commission Arpine Davoyan informed that the secret ballot on electing a member for the RA Public Services Regulatory Commission would be held on May 26, 11:00 – 12:30.
