1 / 2

At the NA extraordinary sitting convened on June 3, the draft law on Making Amendment and Addendum to the Law on State Property Privatization Program for 2017-2020 was debated in the first reading.

The key rapporteur, the Deputy Minister of Health Gevorg Simonyan, presenting the proposed amendment, has stated that it is due to the necessity of giving an opportunity to change the direction of the activities of the Scientific Research Institute of Spa Treatment and Physical Medicine Closed Joint Stock Company (CJSC) and removing the Radioisotope Production Center CJSC from the State Property Privatization Program for 2017-2020. It has been noticed that it is currently included in the list of companies which have state share, proposed to be privatized in 2017-2020. So, it is proposed to remove the Radioisotope Production Center CJSC from the State Property Privatization Program for 2017-2020 and transfer the management of shares with state participation to the Health Ministry, ensuring the improvement and continuous development of the oncology service.

The NA deputy Hayk Gevorgyan presented the endorsement of the Head Committee.

It is proposed with another amendment to the same law to give an opportunity to the Scientific Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics CJSC to change the direction of its activities.

The Center provides traumatology services, without holding monopoly position in the RA medical institutions. It considers as a joint stock company with a standard structure in which the level of applying principles of corporative management is evaluated low. Besides, the direction of traumatology and orthopedics is not considered unique, because there are traumatology and orthopedics departments in all multidisciplinary clinics. The Center is not considered a medical organization of republican importance that provides emergency medical care and services. So, it is proposed after the end of the privatization process to develop its activities in other directions
