Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Convenes Extraordinary Sitting
1 / 5

At June 4 extraordinary sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs, the RA Deputy Minister of Justice Suren Grigoryan presented for debate in the second reading the legislative package on Amending the RA Land Code, on Making Addenda to the State Property Management, on Making Addendum to the Law on Property Alienation for Provision of Eminent Domain was debated.

The deputy Nikolay Baghdasaryan voiced the problem concerning the right to rent. The Land Code designs right to the tenant’s preference. If the territory is sold not in completion order, but simply by sale, then the tenant has right to preference. According to him, that fact practically can impede the alienation of the territory. The MP proposes to discuss this sector.

Duren Grigoryan underlined that in case of arising practical problems in this issue regulations would be proposed in the near future. The co-speaker Artur Davtyan has clarified that the priority will be given to the land tenant, as the latter has right to purchase preference. Artur Davtyan informed that proposals had not been from the first to the second reading.

The Committee endorsed the initiative.
