The President of the RA National Assembly Alen Simonyan hosted the President of Artsakh NA Artur Tovmasyan.

In his welcome speech the RA NA President highlighted the fact of holding the first official meeting with his colleague of Artsakh. Alen Simonyan has noted that the unity between the two Armenian states is a fundamental value, and its maintenance shall permanently find its place in the state and public strategic programmes.

The RA NA President also expressed hope that the two parliament would continue to effectively cooperate, as well as if necessary, the former agreements of collaboration would be reviewed.

In response, Artur Tovmasyan congratulated Alen Simonyan on being elected in the RA NA President’s post. The NA President of Artsakh stressed the peculiarities of the current hard period and the fact of appearing the new realities conditioned by it. Tovmasyan also considered significant the role of the parliamentary diplomacy in the international recognition process of Artsakh.
