On August 11, the first session of the RA NA eighth convocation continued debating the item of the election of the Chairs of the NA Standing Committees.

The Civil Contract Faction nominated the member of the faction Gevorg Papoyan as a candidate for the post of the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs.

The deputy of the Faction Artur Hovhannisyan presented the candidate’s biography and his deputy activity of the NA seventh convocation. It has been noted that the candidate is an author and a co-author of 16 legislative initiatives.

In his speech, Gevorg Papoyan thanked the Civil Contract Faction for nominating him as a candidate for the responsible post. He touched upon the functions of the Standing Committee, highlighted the cooperation with the sphere departments, as well as with the NA budget office during the work. “Any draft law should be debated with the experts in the given field,” the speaker said.
