National Assembly Ends Work of Extraordinary Session

On August 17, the draft law on Making Addenda to the Law on Approving the Annual and Complex Programmes for the Restoration, Preservation, Reproduction and Use of Lake Sevan Ecosystem authored by the Government was debated in the second reading at the NA extraordinary session.

The Chair of the RA Water Committee Karen Sargsyan informed that amendments of a technical nature were made to the draft law. He noted that the proposal on leaving the draft unchanged presented by the NA With Honor Faction was not accepted.

The draft law proposes to establish up to 245mln m3 annual maximum amount of water leakage from the Lake Sevan in 2021.

The National Assembly completely passed the debated draft law by voting.

Covering the agenda, the Parliament ended the work of the extraordinary session.
