At September 17 extraordinary sitting, moderated by Gevorg Papoyan, the RA NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs debated the issue on Artak Manukyan’s candidacy for the vacancy of the member of the RA Central Bank Council presented by the Civil Contract Faction and on proposing the candidate for that position of the National Assembly.

The Chair of the Standing Committee presented the candidate’s biographical data. It was noted that Artak Manukyan was a deputy of My Step Faction of the NA seventh convocation in 2019-2021. He was an author and a co-author of 21 legislative initiatives. Gevorg Papoyan emphasized the candidate’s scientific and professional experience.

Artak Manukyan thanked the Civil Contract Faction for nominating him as a candidate. He assured that he would invest his professional skills in developing the strategy of the RA Central Bank.

As a result of debate and voting, the Committee members endorsed Artak Manukyan’s candidacy.

The Standing Committee also debated and took as an information the report of the NA Budget Office related to the works being done in the second quarter of 2021. As the Coordinating Expert of the Budget Office Gagik Barseghyan assured, the Budget Office received 16 inquiries in the reporting year, 5 out of which from the deputies, 2 from the factions and 9 from the Standing Committees. In general, during the first semester, 60 inquiries were received. Based on the received inquiries, 153 types of certificates were prepared and provided to the President of the RA National Assembly and his Deputies, all Standing Committees and the factions, as well as the MPs.

The MPs also approved the annual schedule of the citizens’ reception for 2021-2022.
