National Assembly Hosts Diaspora Armenian Youth

On September 28, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport Sisak Gabrielyan hosted a group of Diaspora Armenian youth being in Armenia on a cognitive visit within the framework of the Diaspora Youth Ambassador program.

Welcoming the guests, Sisak Gabrielyan spoke about the importance of Armenia-Diaspora connection and active cooperation.

In the Q & A session the MP related to the necessity of the law on repatriation. According to the MP, the draft law will be put into circulation already next year.

The young people proposed the MP to make immigration specialized, according to necessary spheres.

The necessity of teaching Armenian language in schools of Diaspora has been touched upon, it has been noted that there is need for specialists there. It has been proposed to solve the issue of the teachers’ vacancies at state level.

The Diaspora Armenians raised the issue of having representative in RA Parliament, in that context highlighting also their participation in the electoral processes.

The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport promised the attendees to refer to the raised questions in the frameworks of the discussion of the above-mentioned draft law and solve them.
