On October 5, at the regular sitting of the National Assembly, the draft law on Making Addendum to the RA Tax Code authored by the Government was debated.

The key rapporteur, the RA Minister of Finance Arman Poghosyan has submitted that the draft is aimed at changing the direction of the privilege of the income tax return of the interest amount paid for the service of a mortgage loan and at giving significance of balanced territorial development to the draft. Greater social significance will be given to the regulation by the adoption of the draft law.

Arman Poghosyan presented in detail the proposed changes in 4 zones of the City of Yerevan. It has been noted that it has been proposed to use the established privileges in those buildings whose construction permits will be obtained until January 1, 2022.

The rapporteur answered the questions related to the artificial demand and inflation existing in the system, the balanced development of territories.

The draft was endorsed in the Committee.

In their speeches, the deputies referred to the social component of the program and the perspectives of the development of the housing construction in the regions of Armenia.

Vahe Hakobyan has informed that the NA Armenia Faction will vote against this version of the draft. The faction will present proposals during the period of the first to the second reading.

In his final speech, Babken Tunyan underlined that the purpose of the changes proposed by the draft is the restoration of the construction system.
