Term for Providing Passports is Designed to Extend

At November 9 sitting moderated by Andranik Kocharyan, the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security in the first reading debated the draft laws on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Law on the RA Citizen’s Passport and on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Law on Identity Cards

The RA Deputy Head of Police Ara Fidanyan presented the proposing amendments to providing passports. In the defense sphere, with the mediation of the Head of the authorized state government system body of the Republic the citizens of male gender can be given to those who turned 18 also with other term: for education, treatment and taking part in sport, cultural events.

It is designed to extend the term of giving passports again setting instead of January 1, 2022 up to December 31, 2022 for guaranteeing the right to having a document approving the RA citizen’s person.

Taking into consideration the international experience, by the legislative amendment the RA citizens will also be allowed to note the territory, the community, the city where they were born. As the Deputy Head of Police assured, similar legislative amendments were designed to the law on Identity Cards. The co-rapporteur, the Committee member Armen Khachatryan called on his colleagues to vote for the package of the draft laws.

The legislative package with the endorsement was proposed to include in the draft agenda of the NA session.
