On December 16, at the extraordinary sitting the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs debated the draft law on Making Addenda to the Law on Licensing authored by the Government. It is proposed to set the permission for entities of the countries being engaged with kinds of activity subject to licensing in the simplified procedure, without presenting for debate of the Government in case of the appropriate license or adequate permission given by the given state of the legal persons of the Eurasian Economic Union, the European Union member states, as well as the United States, Canada, South Korea, the People’s Republic of China, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the United Arab Emirates, Georgia, the Islamic Republic of Iran for being engaged with kinds of activities subject to licensing not envisaging a requirement for the venue in the RA.

According to the key rapporteur, the RA Deputy Minister of Economy Ani Ispiryan, the given approach stems from the rise of state regulation efficiency of the economic activity, the removal of the provisions impeding the development of the business environment and the simplification policy.

As a result of voting, three were for and three – abstained on the draft law. The Chair of the Standing Committee Vahe Hakobyan noted that a decision was not made on the draft law.

The Committee debated in the second reading and endorsed the two bills and two legislative packages. After the first reading proposals of editorial nature were presented on all draft laws, and they were accepted by the key rapporteurs.
