Amendments to Procedures of Reception of Customs and Tax Services

At the NA extraordinary sitting convened on December 16, the package of draft laws on Making Addenda and Amendments to the Law on Tax Service and on Making Addenda and Amendments to the Law on Customs Service was debated in the first reading.

The Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) Rustam Badasyan has noted that it is planned to make amendments to the procedures of the reception of customs and tax services. It is proposed to replenish the staff in those bodies with new approaches.

It is defined that after the structural changes, the persons who have successfully completed the customs/tax officer training course and are included in the list of candidates who have certificates and are employees of the field will have the right to fill a post of a customer service of reorganized or newly created subdivision.

It is planned to organize a reception for the participation in the training course of customs officer through the current educational institution in the SRC system. The issues related to the organization of the reception will be regulated by by-laws. It is envisaged to create a committee to hold an interview for appointing relevant positions.

According to the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, as a result of the amendments, it is expected to have a change in public perception of the image of customs and tax officers, members of the staff corresponding to the announced position, with necessary professional knowledge and working abilities.
