Common Conditions for Pension Security of Judges, Prosecutors and Persons Holding Autonomous Positions in Investigative Bodies to Be Established

At March 1 sitting, the National Assembly debated the legislative package on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Law on Ensuring, Serving the Activity of the Officials and their Social Guarantees, on Amending the Constitutional Law on Constitutional Court and on the enclosed ones.

According to the RA Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Davit Khachatryan, the purpose of the package is to bring the terms of the right of judges’ pension in line with the decision of the Constitutional Court, as well as to establish common conditions for the pension security of prosecutors and persons holding autonomous positions in investigative bodies.

It is proposed to set the amount of pension, calculated exclusively by law, regardless of the term of holding office and date of birth, by interconnecting it with the official rate and bonus set for the position as of the date of resignation from the last positions.

It is proposed to establish a condition for a prosecutor, as well as persons holding autonomous positions in the Investigative Committee, Anti-Corruption Committee and State Revenue Committee as an entitlement to a pension based on an application, as well as having at least 20 calendar years of professional experience as of the day of dismissal on the basis of reduction of vacancies, deterioration of health condition.

Presenting the endorsement of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs, Lilit Minasyan noted that this amendment is made in the context of the judicial reforms included in the pre-election of their party and the Government programmes.

In the penultimate sitting of the day, the deputies, pursuant to the RA Constitutional Law the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, made statements.
