Reforms Implemented in 2021 in Spheres of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Presented

On March 15, the regular sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport moderated by Sisak Gabrielyan was held.

The Report on Implementation Process and Results of the RA Government Programme for 2021 (2021-2026) approved by the N 234-A Decision of the RA Government on February 28, 2022 was debated.

The RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan presented the reforms implemented in the spheres being in the framework of the department led by him. The Minister highlighted the holding of the teachers’ voluntary certification, as a result of which, the latter would receive 30% - 50% surcharge. It was noted that the process would be continuous.

According to the speaker, according to the introduced new order, in 2021 all the higher educational institutions have boards and Boards of Trustees, and the SNCO – administrative boards.

It was noted that the budget of the science had increased by about 83%. Vahram Dumanyan considered this fact revolutionary. “We expect that such approach also supposes such result,” the Minister underlined. As he informed, according to the established order, the scientific workers’ salaries would also increase.

The Minister underscored that the nominal pensions of the athletes and the coaches were increased.

He spoke about the implementation of the cultural new programmes for the pupils in the educational organizations. These are: Class + classical, the Schoolchild’s Philharmonic, Your Art at School, Sister Schools, etc.

The Minister also informed that the European Weightlifting Championship would be held in Yerevan this year.
